More Swing Set Fun

Bella comes to play with us on Friday mornings. We decided she could help Jack break in his new swing. He loooooooves to swing. Bella was the queen of the tower

My crazy son.
Bella found a leaf.
Isn't she cute!!!???

Dirt Princesses

While the men were working on the swing set my friend Shawn and I took the kids over to my grandmothers to do some yard work. I brought plenty of princess dresses and crowns and so Caroline and Angelena immediately dressed up. At first their play was innocent. They played on the bridge like any other princess would.

And then they spotted the dirt pile.
Jack and Isabella watched from the window.
And then the royal princesses extended the reach of their kingdom.
They were actually sliding down the dirt pile on their bellies!
These girls were so dirty. You don't even want to know what the bath water looked like.

Mission Completion!!!

OK, maybe I have been watching Little Einsteins a little too much. At any rate, the swing set is finally complete! Here is the very capable work crew...Rick, my Dad, and our friend Rick Bianchi. After 9 total hours of work and two Saturdays we finally have our swing set in the back yard.
Since they finished rather quickly they decided to take care of some pipes that were sticking out of the ground. Well, they ended up knocking off pipes that were actually connected to the water supply. We had to turn the water off for our entire street in order to get it fixed. Too bad I wasn't around for those pictures!

Swinging together!
Thank you Nana and Griff for such an awesome gift!

Candy Land

Well, it was finally time to teach my baby girl how to play Candy Land. She was so excited. We had worked ALL DAY LONG to clean her room and then we played a game as a reward.

We selected our pieces ...
And away we went. Her first card was a single orange.
Now, you have to understand that at this moment Jack had free rein of Caroline's room.

But what did he want to do? Crawl over the board.

He didn't like being stopped in his tracks.

The first double...orange again.

For a while there we were neck and neck. Caroline and I both pretty competitive so we were both on pins and needles.

V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!!!!

And poor little Jack felt as if he had lost.

Caroline and I had such a great time. She has asked to play every day since.

Finally it was time to try out the swing set...minus the swings. Caroline could hardly contain her excitement.

I couldn't resist cute little toes.
A great BIIIIIIGGGG thank you to Nana and Griff who made this whole thing possible. I can tell there will be endless days of fun on the new swing set.

Swing Set - Phase #1

For Caroline's 4th birthday and Jack's 1st birthday, Nana and Griff bought the kids a swing set for the back yard. Well, after firewood, vacation and some rain it was finally time to put it together. I was sure to pick out the one with a million pieces.
My Dad is one of the most organized people I know...he would rival you, Annie. He took the time to organize all of the wood pieces and the hundreds of bolts and screws so there would be no confusion. Unfortunately, even with all of his hard work there was still difficulty understanding the directions. Sometimes the only difference in a part to the set would be a 1/2 inch difference in hole placement!

I dare say that there was more confusion than just the instructions. My not-so-handy hubby was very confused about the proper tools that needed to be used.
Even with the mustache that DOES NOT contain super-hero power, he was unable to navigate the workings of the ladder...I had to show him.

After 7 long tedious hours they had only managed to complete the tower, the rock wall, ladder and the slide. The continuation will be this Saturday.

My Husband Chuck and His Mustachio

So Chuck Norris was a little put out that I didn't include ALL of the pics from his Halloween photo shoot. While the costume is gone, it grieves me to report that Rick's mustache has remained in place on his face. It has assumed the name of Chuck Norris. Mr. Mustachio and I are not friends.

That's right! Chuck can catch a football in mid-air with one hand.

I'M SOOOOO PROUD!

Fall Family Festival!

Well, the day started out right with my husband, Chuck Norris, heading off to work. Yes, it was a day that promised to be full of beating up bad guys and lots of candy. After Chuck went to work I headed to Caroline's preschool where they were having a dino-party.
They all wore these cute dino hats and paraded around! Too cute!
One dino to another

My kids were dressed as cowgirl and a horse. They were so cute!

This is Jack's best "horse" impression.

My little cowgirl giving her best high-5!

Caroline and Jack went around the festival with my parents. They always have a great time and Grammy and Papa always take them where ever they want.

The horse is taking a ride on Papa's shouders.

Thanks Dad!

Jack and his Papa having a little "Hershey" snack...thanks Dad!

The Basket ball game

The Jump house. There were about 5 0r 6 different jump houses. This was Caroline's favorite thing to do. Not so fun when you are the person taking off and putting on the pink boots!

The Cowgirl and her horse.
This year our Church did actual horse rides. It was soooo fun!

Yep, that would be a sucker. Thank you again, Dad.

We had a great time. There were tons of people at the church. Every year this community event gets bigger and better!
